I am a medical student with a strong interest in biochemistry. Previously, I worked in the biochemistry lab at my university, where I studied modified islet amyloid polypeptide that does not form amyloid plaques, in hopes of finding a possible treatment for type 2 diabetes. Through the ENLACE program, I joined the ctleelab as a summer research intern. Here, I will be running molecular dynamics simulations to investigate lipid-protein interactions. I hope to immerse myself in the computational side of research and gain a mechanistic understanding, truly learning the “how” behind these complex molecular processes.
