Cailyn is a Biological Sciences PhD student with a background in molecular biology and biochemistry. Previously, she worked at the University of California, Berkeley, in Krishna Niyogi’s lab, where she studied photosystem assembly in thylakoid membranes. This project sparked her interest in how lipids facilitate the proper integration of large protein complexes into membranes. In the ctleelab, her research focuses on how lipids and proteins collectively dictate the morphology of mitochondria. Outside of the lab, Cailyn enjoys watercoloring, DJing, and mahjong!
